Smith County is moving forward to help Lindale Rural Water Supply bring water to more than 450 people.

The Smith County Commissioners Court will take steps on several items related to a Texas Community Development Block Grant on behalf of Lindale Rural Water Supply during its Tuesday meeting.

The county applied for the grant on behalf of the water supply earlier this year and will review information and take any necessary action to authorize engineering, construction, acquisition and grant management services for the grant, valued at about $275,000.

The court also will consider the appointment of Dr. Megan Swisher to fill the vacant “At Large” position on the Andrews Center Board of Trustees.
