A Tyler barbeque restaurant has minor damage after an electrical fire Monday.

The Tyler Fire Department was called to Rudy’s Country Store, 1410 South Southwest Loop 323, to investigate smoke coming from one of its walls, according to a news release from the department.

Firefighters found smoke coming from the southwest corner of the building from a firebox that was feeding a warmer inside the building, according to the fire department.

The fire was contained inside the wall. Crews removed the rock veneer and some of the all covering the building and put out the fire.

The investigator believed damage to the mortar around the firebox allowed excessive heat to enter the wall space, the release states.

Three engines, a ladder truck, a district chief and an investigator responded to the call.

No injuries were reported and the Health Dept. was notified.
