John Tyler opens the 2016 softball season on Thursday.

The Lady Lions compete in the Longview Lobo Tournament on Thursday and Saturday.

In between, JT will take a trip to Carlisle to play the Lady Indians on Friday.

In all, the Lady Lions will play three road games and in three tournaments before opening District 16-5A play on March 7.

The league opener is also JT’s home opener, a March 7 date with Jacksonville at 1 p.m. from Faulkner Park.

The remainder of the 16-5A games are slated for 6 p.m.

The Lady Lions will host Lufkin on April 19 for “Senior Night” before closing the season on the road at Lindale on April 22.
