Playoff Volleyball: Carlisle advances to regionals

LONGVIEW – The Carlisle Lady Indians are headed to regionals.

Carlisle scored a 3-1 win over Avery on Monday in a Class 2A regional quarterfinal volleyball match at Lobo Coliseum on the Longview High School campus.



Leaders for Carlisle (31-12) were Hayley Jordan (25 kills, 6 digs), Cheyenne Vannier (47 assists, 17 digs), Heather Craig (10 kills, 21 digs, 4 aces), Callie Gray (5 kills, 7 blocks, 25 digs) and Kyndal Martin (6 kills, 9 digs).

The Lady Indians advance to the Region III Tournament which is scheduled for Longview High School Friday and Saturday.

Carlisle will meet either Evadale or Centerville at 2 p.m. Friday at Lobo Coliseum. The other semifinal will be at 4 p.m.

The regional championship is scheduled for noon Saturday.

Rains falls in area round to North Lamar

Rains’ season came to a close with a 3-0 loss Tuesday to Paris North Lamar in their Class 3A area round playoff. The Wildcats were led by Charlotte Bradshaw’s 18 kills in the loss.

Rains completes its season at 36-8.
