Historic Tyler on Tour starts next Friday

Historic Tyler on Tour will launch its 34th year this week. This year’s theme is Historically Unique and the featured houses, located in three neighborhoods, represent a diversity of architectural styles, according to an event news release.

The Candlelight Party and Tour is on Friday, March 27 at the Palmer home, 404 W. Sixth St., in the Azalea District.



The home tour runs from 7 to 9 p.m., and the garden party from 7:30 to 11 p.m.

The Candlelight party is by reservation only. Tickets cost $100 per person and can be purchased by calling 903-595-1960.

The general home tours run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday (March 29).

 Home tours will be at: the Bankston Home, 2806 S. Keaton Ave.; the Frank Home, 918 E. Watkins St.; the Hardin Home, 1411 S. Chilton Ave.; the Tyer Home, 1503 S. College Ave.; and the Kesler Home, 627 S. Fannin Ave.

The neighborhoods represented include the Pollard Hills Subdivision, the Azalea District, and the Charnwood Residen-tial District.

Day tour tickets cost $20 and can be purchased at the doors of the tour homes, or at Sweet Gourmet, Potpourri House, Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce or on the Historic Tyler website at http://historictyler.org.

Historic Tyler is a nonprofit organization. Event proceeds support the advocacy and preservation of historic properties in Tyler.
