Tyler Junior College trustees agreed Thursday for the college to provide shelter to residents of three nursing homes in the event they have to be evacuated.

The board approved a memorandum of understanding with Cantex Continuing Care Network to provide emergency shelter and other needs to residents of Magnolia Manor, Oakwood Manor and Silsbee Convalescent Center.

The trustees also authorized East Texas Medical Center to operate the TJC on-campus clinic from Sept. 1 through Aug. 31, 2017.
