A four-vehicle wreck shut down a large portion of SSW Loop 323 near the Jack O’ Diamonds car dealership Friday.

Tyler Police Department Lt. Matthew Smyser said the accident occurred after a gray GMC Sierra jumped the median into oncoming traffic and struck a black Mazda convertible at about 6 p.m. Friday afternoon. Officers were at the hospital speaking with the driver of the GMC Sierra that jumped the median to determine the cause of the wreck.

The two passengers in the Mazda also were taken to the hospital after being extricated by fire crews. A fourth person traveling in a gray sedan is hospitalized as well.

None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.
