Tyler Family Circle of Care offered a sneak preview of its newly renovated pediatric facility Tuesday, before opening to patients on Friday, June 12.

The clinic space at 214 E. Houston formerly housed the Women’s Services of Tyler Family Circle of Care (TFCC), before the opening of their new clinic on Glenwood earlier this year. TFCC officials said the need for pediatric services dictated the opening of this clinic, and renovations have been ongoing for several months.

“We have expanded our main pediatric clinic on North Broadway as far as we can,” said Mary Elizabeth Jackson, Chief Executive Officer of TFCC. “However, there is a real need to give more pediatric patients quality healthcare and provide the access that they require. The demand is present, and we simply needed more space and more providers.”

The new Pediatric Clinic will open with Rebecca Risinger, MD, Chief Medical Officer and lead pediatric physician for TFCC, and will add two new pediatricians and several advanced practice providers (APP) in the coming months. The new clinic will be operating under the progressive and effective Medical Home model, with a chosen primary care physician (pediatrician) and group of APPs working as a team to provide coordinated care for patients.

“The clinic will be open to any patient who requires pediatric services, however it is targeted to those patients who may not have easy access to the pediatric medical care they currently need,” said Jackson. “We will be focusing on Medicaid, low-income and uninsured patients. We are here to serve our community and we are beyond excited to open this incredible new facility and expand access to medical care for the children of the Tyler area.”

Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics owns the facility. The renovation and furnishing of the building was funded by the efforts of the Trinity Mother Frances Foundation, and TMFHC will lease the space to TFCC moving forward.

The new pediatric clinic will be open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
