The Wood County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the deaths of two people found dead on Monday in a home in the Quitman area.

According to a news release, sheriff’s deputies were called to County Road 1416 for a welfare concern.

“Upon arrival, the deputy found all windows and doors of the residence to be secure and he could not obtain a response from inside the home,” the release stated.

The deputy then made a forced entry and found Emma Moore, 75, and Bobby Harper, 67, dead in the home. 

The news release indicated autopsy results are pending, and the sheriff’s office is being assisted by the Texas Rangers.
