John Tyler halted a three-match skid with a 3-game sweep of Jacksonville on Tuesday at the Lions Den.

The Lady Lions won 25-18, 25-11, 25-16 to open the second half of District 16-5A.

John Tyler improved to 14-13 overall and 4-3 in District 16-5A. Jacksonville fell to 0-7 in league play.

The Lady Lions are back in action on Friday when they play at Lufkin at 4:30 p.m.

Elsewhere in District 16-5A, Whitehouse swept Jacksonville 25-17, 25-15, 25-17 behind Beth Hood’s 12 kills and two blocks. Brittany Taylor added 10 kills and five aces for the LadyCats (17-17, 5-2).
