LUFKIN (KYTX) – One person is missing after a wreck on US 59 at the Neches River Bridge Saturday morning.

According to a preliminary crash investigation, Saturday morning November 28, a 2014 Dodge passenger car was headed northbound on US 59 when it left the roadway into the river.

The driver, 23-year-old Adrian Segura from Lufkin, was able to get out of the car and is uninjured. However, his passenger, 23-year-old Markus Smith also from Lufkin, is still missing.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens, Polk County DPS, Angelina County DPS and the Nacogdoches Fire Department dive team are conducting an intensive search for Smith.

The crash remains under investigation.
