TYLER (KYTX) – Police say multiple people were involved in a fight here last night. A video posted to twitter shows what started as a fight between two people turn into a full on brawl. Authorities say up to 50 or more people were involved.
It happened at the Reserve Apartments near UT Tyler, which aren’t affiliated with either school. However, residents say it’s mostly TJC students who live there. One resident, Julissa, says the fight broke out right in front of her building.
“I just heard a lot of people yelling and when I go outside to my patio, there’s a bunch of cop cars outside, apparently a big fight broke out. Two girls were fighting, I heard someone got hit,” said Julissa.
She also said she heard cars had been vandalized.
When we walked around the complex, we noticed a car had been keyed, but we couldn’t confirm if this was related to the fight. The Tyler Police Department and the Smith County Sheriff’s office were called out, but we’re told when they arrived, everyone was gone. One arrest was made, however, police say it was unrelated to the incident. No one working at the apartment complex would comment.
