The Henderson County Performing Arts Center next week will open “The 39 Steps,” a spoof on an Alfred Hitchcock spy thriller.

Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 6, 7, 12-14 and at 2 p.m. on Feb. 8 at HPAC, 400 Gibson Road, Athens, the theater announced.

Tickets cost $17 and can be reserved by calling 903-675-3908 or through the website, hcpac.org.

On Feb. 14, HPAC also will present a Valentine’s Day event, Death by Chocolate, featuring performances of romantic songs and servings of chocolate. Sessions are set for 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and reservations can be made by calling 903-675-3908.
