With the 217th pick overall, the Los Angeles Rams made offensive lineman Beaux Limmer the seventh player from Robert E. Lee/Tyler Legacy High School to be selected in the NFL Draft.
Limmer will be the 10th Red Raider to play in the NFL since 1974, joining a list that includes Donnie Gibbs, Randy Grimes, Corey Mayfield, Leonta Rheams, Fred Coleman, Joffrey Reynolds, Matt Flynn, Brandon Pettigrew and Josh Aubrey.

Pettigrew, Flynn, Coleman, Rheams, Mayfield and Grimes were all selected in the NFL Draft.
Limmer, a 2019 Lee graduate, was picked by the Rams in the sixth round after he made 41 starts and appeared in 49 games during his career with the Arkansas Razorbacks, playing both guard and center.
On the ESPN telecast of the draft, they said Limmer is “one of the steals of the draft”
Limmer was a three-star recruit coming out of high school at 265 pounds, is now 6-5 and 302 pounds.
At the NFL Combine, Limmer — now 6-5, 310 pounds — ran the 40-yard dash in 5.22 seconds, had a 10-yard split of 1.75 seconds, had a vertical jump of 36-5, a broad jump of 9-2, ran the three-cone drill in 7.47 seconds, did the 20-yard shuttle in 4.57 seconds and recorded 39 reps on the bench press.
Other East Texans selected in the 2024 NFL Draft were Washington wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk (Lufkin) 37th overall in the second round by the New England Patriots and USC wide receiver Tahj Washington (Marshall) 241st overall in the seventh round by the Miami Dolphins.
