BAYTOWN — The Apache Ladies survived another round at the Region XIV Volleyball Tournament on Friday, defeating defending national champion Blinn 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-23).
Tyler Junior College now advances to play San Jacinto College (ranked No. 1 in the nation) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lee College.
A win Saturday would guarantee TJC a spot in the national tournament and a chance to claim the regional title. A loss would put the Apache Ladies to the loser’s bracket with a chance to work their way back into the top two spots.
TJC is currently ranked No. 6 in the nation and has only three losses all season — two to San Jac, although the Apache Ladies did manage to win two games of a five-game match in an October meeting.

Jacqueline Santos: seven kills, one ace serve, eight blocks, and 14 digs
