A Wood County man who was injured while resisting arrest Tuesday afternoon is expected to make a full recovery after about two weeks of treatment.

Daniel McLemore was arrested near County Road 3145, near Quitman, after a manhunt involving multiple police agencies.

The manhunt started around 11 p.m. Monday after McLemore allegedly shot at a sheriff’s deputy and a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper who answered a disturbance call in the 3500 block of Farm-to-Market 2088 in Wood County.

As the offices pulled into the driveway shots were allegedly fired by McLemore at the officers while he stood in the driveway, according to the sheriff’s office. The officers returned fire, but no one was injured and McLemore fled the scene.

A warrant was issued for attempted capital murder and a bond was set at $500,000.

He was found on Tuesday, and while allegedly resisting arrest, was shot at least twice with major injuries to his left leg, left arm and abdomen area.

He was flown helicopter to “an undisclosed hospital,” according to Wood County authorities, and is expected to remain in the hospital for two weeks under guard before he will be transferred to the Wood County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office.
