Each year, the Tyler ISD Foundation holds its “Night of Shining Stars” event to recognize the top 20 graduates at John Tyler and Robert E. Lee high schools.
During the event, which will be held this week, students speak about a TISD teacher, coach or other educator who has most inspired them during their educational careers.

This year’s theme is Hollywood stars with several short videos about memorable movie quotes, music and motivational speeches to be played at the beginning of the event.
“It will be great for our graduating seniors,” he said.
TISD board member Andy Bergfeld is scheduled to be this year’s master of ceremonies, and Goddard said it is great to have the school board involved.
