A special track and field day for six TISD schools was held Friday at the John Tyler High School track. Elementary students got to try out the shot put, took turns throwing a foxtail and throwing a javelin. Fourth- and fifth-grade students from Caldwell, Birdwell, Clarkston, Griffin, Orr and Woods Elementary Schools participated in the event.
