Cumberland wins second game

No. 1-ranked Cumberland had another sound game, scoring a 7-1 win over No. 6 St. Cloud in the late game on Sunday in the NJCAA Division III World Series at Mike Carter Field.
Cody Stashak tossed 8 2/3 innings to register the win on the mound. He gave up just two hits, while striking out 11.
Devin McCann had a triple for the Dukes, while Anthony Lopez added a double. Lopez and Arturo Ocasio had two hits apiece.
Ed Reichenbach, Ryder Klopp and Michael Barrenceche had the hits for the Cyclones.
St. Cloud will try to avoid elimination when the Cyclones meet Herkimer (New York) at 4 p.m. Monday.
Cumberland (48-8) advances to meet Tyler Junior College (40-17) at 7 p.m. Monday in the unbeaten game.
The winner advances to Wednesday’s championship game.
Late Saturday, Josh O’Neill tossed a three-hitter while striking out nine in leading Cumberland County (New Jersey) to a 7-0 win over No. 4 Waubonsee (Illinois).
O’Neill blanked the Chiefs and his teammates picked up the offense. Jordan Glover and Jose Martinez had doubles, while Anthony Lopez was 3 for 5. Glover was 2 for 5 with two RBIs. Tyler Mixon and Arturo Ocasio also had two hits.
The Chiefs were hurt by six errors.
Getting the hits for the Illinois squad were Devin Ambrose, Tyler Heinie and Jarret Clark.
