The East Texas Food Bank announced Monday a $10,000 grant from MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger. MAZON has been a supporter of the East Texas Food Bank for 15 years.

“We are grateful for the continued support MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger has given to the East Texas Food Bank,” said Dennis Cullinane, CEO of the East Texas Food Bank. “MAZON is a unique and valuable partner of food banks across the country in the fight against hunger in our local communities through bringing holistic and sustainable solutions to our efforts.”

In addition to distributing food to more than 200 partner agencies across 26 counties, the East Texas Food Bank also advocates for the needs of hungry people in East Texas. This is accomplished in a variety of ways, including public awareness of hunger, mobilizing the public in the fight against hunger, communicating with local, state and national legislators on issues of hunger, and helping eligible East Texans to register for benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This generous grant from MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger will help the East Texas Food Bank pursue these important objectives.
