The Tyler Area Builders Association (TABA) Parade of Homes is a nine-day tour of completed new construction homes from June 1-9, where those looking to build, buy or renovate can find inspiration.

This year is the 71st anniversary of the event.

The Parade of Homes allows builder members and subcontractors to showcase the latest home design and technology. Many potential homebuyers utilize the Parade to meet the builders and subcontractors and view their workmanship.

The organization promotes the building industry through education, advocacy and partnerships for its members. The TABA is a trade association whose members comprise all types of businesses associated with the homebuilding industry.

There are 650 builder members, from builders and developers to bank title companies, paint stores, flooring companies and concrete stores. The TABA organization covers Anderson, Angelina, Cherokee, Freestone, Henderson, Houston, Nacogdoches, Navarro, Shelby, Smith, Trinity, Wood and Van Zandt counties.

This year’s tour features 29 homes all over East Texas, giving people a sneak peek to the latest communities while showcasing the latest home design trends. Many parade goers choose to check out each home over the nine-day tour. More than 4,000 people toured the Parade last year.

Those interested in visiting the homes can purchase tickets and find the addresses on the TABA website at www.tylerareabuilders.com. People can decide when and where they would like to see the homes of their choice.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. One ticket allows entry into each home one time for the duration of the Parade. If not purchased online, tickets can be purchased (with cash only) at each of the participating homes during the tour.

For a number of years, TABA has donated a portion of the proceeds to organizations that serve the community and specifically benefit children. This year, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Kingdom Life Academy and North Tyler Academy.

The parade begins June 1st and lasts through June 9th. Hours are Saturdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sundays 2 to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday 3 to 8 p.m.
