Grover Davis

A Tyler man was arrested Sunday, accused of assaulting two people with a baseball bat in a Tyler hotel.

Tyler Police officers were called to the Economy Inn, 3301 Mineola Highway, at 8 a.m. after a 24-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were assaulted in a room, according to the police department.

Both went to local hospitals with nonlife-threatening injuries and the suspect, 52-year-old Grover Davis, left the hotel in a white Ford Crown Victoria.

Davis was arrested after officers found his car and pulled him over. He was booked into the Smith County Jail for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
