TOWN East Texas meets at 6 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month at Tele’s Mexican Restaurant, 401 S. Tyler St., Gladewater.
TOWN is an offshoot of the Becoming an Outdoors Woman workshops initiated by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Currently, there are groups in several major cities across Texas. While each group is independent, they share the same mission: To provide all women the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities in a safe, non-threatening and supportive environment. Membership is open to all women 18 and older and you may attend 2 meetings or 2 outings before deciding to join.
Archery club forms
Smith County 4-H announces the formation of a 4-H Youth Archery Project Group.
The group will hold its first meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tyler Archery Club. TAC president Cevin Price will serve as coach for the new club.
“We are so pleased that Smith County 4-H was able to recruit such a talented volunteer as Mr. Price and we know he will be an invaluable asset to our program. We have had so many people asking for an Archery group and I know that this project will be a huge success,” said Sarah Bolt, Smith County Extension agent for 4-H and Youth Development
The group is open to any Smith County youth interested in participating.
The Tyler Archery Club is located on County Road, just off State Highway 64 East. To reach the club run left on County Road 272 (across from Hicks Lawn Mower Service) and then left between 10178 and 10182 CR 272. Look for the archery target signs.
