Tyler Community Band will celebrate its silver jubilee with a concert at 3 p.m. on Nov. 2 in Caldwell Auditorium. The concert honors its previous conductors, organizers announced.

The program will include “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” “American Overture” and “Hymnsong of Phillip Bliss.” The band also will play a medley from the musical “Oklahoma.” Oklahoma is the home state of the band’s founder, Richard Highfill.

Highfill’s daughter, Patty Highfill McKinney, will direct the band as well as former directors Ronald Todd and Jeffery Emge. Former directors Mark Crim and Bill Waltemath will also be honored.

Dan Stone, who has led the band since 2012, also will direct.

The concert is free and open to all.
