Patriots split with Louisiana College

PINEVILLE, La. — Junior forward Brittany King recorded her ninth double-double of the year, leading the No. 22-ranked UT Tyler women’s basketball team to a 73-67 win over Louisiana College on Thursday in an American Southwest Conference game.
King scored 27 points and hauled-in a game-high 16 boards.

In the second game, the Wildcats edged the Patriots 93-90 in overtime despite 21 points from Travis Dykman.
UT Tyler (21-3, 19-2) led for all but one minute of the game, trailing at the 14:07 mark of the first half after Louisiana College’s (14-9, 21-8) Karolyn Thornton hit a free throw to make it 10-9 Wildcats.
The Patriots dominated LC on the boards, hauling in 51 total rebounds to the Wildcats 30.
Breann McMillan finished with 12 points in the win, while Teylor Seals and She’Cara Humphrey finished with 10 points apiece.
King finished the game going 7 for 7 from the free throw line, putting her season total at 121 free throws-made, one off the season-record of 122.
Danai Woods added six rebounds, four assists and two steals.

The Patriots will play a doubleheader against Mississippi College on Saturday in Clinton, Miss. The women play at 1 p.m., followed by the men at 3 p.m.
