MARSHALL — The Tyler Junior College Apache football team is scheduled to scrimmage East Texas Baptist University tonight at Ornelas Stadium.

The scrimmage is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The Apaches, ranked No. 13 in the preseason poll after finishing No. 10 last season, open the regular season with against defending Southwest Junior College Football Conference champion Trinity Valley Community College. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 at Bruce Field in Athens.

TJC tied with TVCC for the regular season crown, but TVCC took the title in the playoffs.

The Tigers open their season Thursday, Sept. 4, at Texas A&M-Commerce. Kickoff is 7 p.m. in Commerce.
