Donald Allen Norsworthy

Donald Allen Norsworthy, 76, of Fort Collins, CO, passed away peacefully on December 31st, 2018 in Fort Collins, CO after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Donald was born in Memphis, TN on July 8th, 1942 to G.E. Norsworthy and LaNelle Pirtle Norsworthy. He graduated from John Tyler High School in Tyler, TX in 1959, attended Tyler Junior College and graduated from the University of Texas, El Paso after serving his country in the U.S. Army, Intelligence Corps. Don married Leslie Roberts in 1972 and they had one daughter, Amy. He worked as a salesman and sales manager for Jostens for more than 20 years. He enjoyed golfing and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Coppell, where he served in many capacities. He was known for his love of life, his joyous sense of humor and contagious laugh, his charisma and courage.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Amy (Dan) Duffy, three cherished granddaughters, Leslie Grace, Emily and Abigail, all of Fort Collins, CO and step-grandson, Braidan, of Melbourne, FL. He is also survived by his sister Barbara (Mike) Warner of Tyler, Texas, many well-loved nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as a host of friends that cared for him like family. He is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Leslie, 2 brothers, Ed Norsworthy and Bob Norsworthy, and 2 sisters, Dorothy Stackhouse and Martha Ann Cobb.

In keeping with Don’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Don loved nothing more than spending time enjoying family and friends, laughing and reminiscing. Celebrations of his life will be planned later in the year. His physical body will have a forever home in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
