Bullard man indicted on capital murder charge in death of elderly Bullard man, 2 women indicted on robbery, tampering with evidence charges

A Bullard man recently was indicted by a Smith County grand jury on a capital murder charge and two Tyler women were indicted on burglary and tampering with evidence charges in the November beating death of an elderly Bullard man.
Smith County judicial records indicate Brentavian Keshawn Henderson, 22, of Bullard was formally charged Feb. 7 with a capital murder charge in the death of 77-year-old Roy Bowins who was found on the floor of an outbuilding behind his home.
Krystal Dixon, 25, of Tyler, and Tationna Mosley, 19, of Tyler, also were arrested in connection with the murder, but formally charged with burglary of a habitation and tampering with evidence on Feb. 7, according to judicial records.
Dixon and Mosley posted their $10,000 bonds and were released from jail on Feb. 9, according to judicial records.
Jail records indicate they were rearrested on Feb. 12 and judicial records show their bonds were determined to be insufficient on Feb. 13.
Dixon and Mosley were being held in the Smith County Jail on bonds totaling $850,000, according to jail records.
Judicial records show Dixon and Mosley are scheduled for an arraignment hearing on March 8 and their trials are scheduled to begin April 22.
Henderson remained in the Smith County Jail on a $750,000 bond, according to jail records.
He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday for a status hearing in his case. according to judicial records.
Bowins’ body was found Nov. 23 after a caller requested authorities conduct a welfare check at Bowins’ home.
When deputies arrived in the 23000 block of County Road 121, located near Bullard in the southeastern part of Smith County, they saw his body after looking through the window of a locked outbuilding.
An arrest warrant affidavit in the case said Henderson, Mosley and Dixon stole Bowins’ TVs and traded them for crack cocaine and rented his vehicle to a prostitute for $5.
Authorities believe the incident occurred on or about Nov. 13.
The indictment of a person by a grand jury is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
