TJC Baseball: Apaches blank Centenary JV, 5-0

SHREVEPORT, La. — Five TJC pitchers combined on a three-hitter as the No. 1 Apaches blanked Centenary JV 5-0 on Wednesday.

Tyler Junior College improves to 24-6 on the season and will be home this weekend to face Murray State at Mike Carter Field. A single game is set for 6 p.m. Saturday with a doubleheader on Sunday with the first game set to begin at 1 p.m.

The five TJC pitchers were Mitchgell (2 innings, 1 hit, 3 strikeouts, 0 walks), Lyle Hibbitts (1 inning, 0 hits, 0 strikeouts, 0 walks), Dayton Farmer (3 finings, 2 hits, 0 strikeouts, 2 walks), Tanner McNamara (2 innings, 0 hits, 1 strikeout, 0 walks) and Casey Pelton (1 innings, 0 hits, 3 strikeouts, 0 walks).

Farmer got the win on the mound.

The Apaches had seven hits, two by Cade Watson. Jacoby Bogue had a double with Ty Meissner, Michael Morissette, Miguel Vega and Heath Hood adding singles.



RBIS were from Morissette, Jason Bellew, Watson, Bryce Coveney and Fiver Trimble. Scoring runs were Jacob Johnson (2), Hood (1), Watson (1) and Coveney (1).

SMOKE SIGNALS: The TJC softball DH with Kilgore was moved to Thursday at the Brook Hill School in Bullard. The first game is to begin at 5 p.m.
