Jacksonville's Kylie McCown had three hits in the Maidens' 8-4 win over Pine Tree on Tuesday in District 16-5A softball.

Jacksonville 8, Pine Tree 4

JACKSONVILLE — Catcher Kylie McCown had three hits in leading the Jacksonville Maidens to an 8-4 win over the Longview Pine Tree Lady Pirates on Tuesday in a District 16-5A softball game.



Jacksonville improves to 12-2-1 overall and 3-0 in district. 

The Jacksonville JV won 10-5 behind Juliana Harwell.

Hallsville 26, John Tyler 0

HALLSVILLE — Maddie Melton and Jaydin Ainsworth combined on a three-inning perfect game  sitting down all nine John Tyler batters they faced on strikes  as Hallsville rolled to a 26-0 win in District 16-5A softball.

Melton struck out six in two innings, and Ainsworth fanned three in her inning of work.

At the plate, Melton homered, tripled and drove in two runs. Taylor Freeman added a triple, single and three RBI. Lorena Ramirez doubled twice, singled and drove in five runs. Abby Thomas added a double, two singles and four RBI. Kelsey Hart chipped in with a double and two RBI. Molly Danna had two hits, and Ashlea Langley, Abby Dunagan, Hailey Krchnak, Anahi Ramirez and Ainsworth all drove in runs.

Marshall 8, Whitehouse 1

MARSHALL — Adriana Vences blasted a grand slam to highlight a five-run second inning for Marshall, and the Lady Mavericks earned an 8-1 win over Whitehouse in District 16-5A.

Maggie Truelove tripled and drove in a run for Marshall. Chloe Buchanan added two hits and an RBI. Liz Palmer chipped in with two hits, and Kacy Ridgeway drove in a run.

Vences also pitched for Marshall, striking out nine, walking four and giving up no earned runs in a complete game.

Harmony 15, Winona 0

HARMONY  Delaynie Nash belted a home run, while Analese Cano and Nash combined on a one-hitter as the Harmony Lady Eagles defeated the Winona LadyCats 15-0 in four innings of a District 16-3A softball game.

Cano pitched two innings, allowing one hit and striking out two while not walking a batter. Nash finished up with two innings, four strikeouts and no walks.

Cano, Katelyn Welborn and Dacy Dawson each had two hits with Kinzee Settles, Kaylee Clemens, Hope Howard and Marlee Seahorn hitting singles. Howard had three RBIs with Nash and Emily Reynolds driving in two. Settles, Cano and Dawson drove in one each.

Scoring runs were Settles (2), Cano (2), Howard (2), Alexa Makowsky (2), Alie Rhame (2), Clemens (1), Nash (1), Dawson (1), Seahorn (1) and Danielle Ison (1).

Canton 13, Red Oak 9

RED OAK  Reagan Busby had three hits and Jacey Pride hit a triple as the Canton Eaglettes defeated Red Oak 13-9 in a softball game on Tuesday.

Kori Nicklas, Pride and Kylie Floyd all had two hits with Busby, Floyd and Tori Robinson hitting doubles. Adding singles were Kaitlin Hall and Lauren Reid.

Driving in runs for Canton were Floyd (2), Hall (2), Reid (2), Pride (1) and Busby (1). Scoring runs were Nicklas (3), Pride (3), Floyd (2), Claire Rose (2), Busby (1), Hall (1) and Robinson (1).

Reid went the distance to get the win, allowing nine runs (five were earned) and striking out three.

Arp 8, Sabine 5

ARP — Arp built a 6-0 lead after four innings and held on for an 8-5 win over the Sabine Lady Cardinals in 16-3A softball.

Erika Lowry homered and drove in three runs, and Sarah Davis pounded out four hits and drove in a run in the loss for Sabine. Makenzie Cook and Davis both doubled, with Cook adding a single and an RBI. Madison Rice and Blaire Kaufman had two hits apiece.

Callie Sparks struck out five and walked four in three innings, and Cook fanned three with one walk in three innings.

Hawkins 14, New Summerfield 2

NEW SUMMERFIELD  The Hawkins Lady Hawks bounced back on Tuesday, scoring a 14-2 District 19-2A softball win over the New Summerfield Lady Hornets.

Sadie Scoggins and Lynli Dacus combined on a five-inning no-hitter. Scoggins allowed two unearned in two innings of work to get the win. She struck out two and walked two.

Dacus pitche the final three innings, striking out six and walking one.

Alyssa Eddington had three hits, including a double. Josie Howard added two singles with Dacus and Mackenzie Bergen hitting singles.

Driving in runs were Howard, Eddington, Scoggins, Bergen, Shylee Beene and Gracee Morrell.

Scoring runs for the Lady Hawks were Howard (3), Eddington (3), Mariana Clark (3), Dacus (2), Jaci Owens (1), Bergen (1) and Alyson Johnson (1).

Natalie Neeley and Madison Rawlinson each scored runs for the Lady Hornets.

Carlisle 9, Union Grove 5

UNION GROVE — Lani Green collected four hits and drove in two runs, Megan Beene had two hits and three RBI from the leadoff spot for Carlisle and the Lady Indians rallied for a 9-5 win over Union Grove in 19-2A.

Tori Esters tripled, and Beene, Esters and Green all doubled for Carlisle, which trailed 3-0 after three innings. Bree O’Neil drove in three runs, and Hagan Grigsby also added an RBI. Green fanned four and walked one in two innings. Esters picked up the win, striking out three and walking one in five innings.

Beckville 5, Overton 1

BECKVILLE — Ally LaGrone struck out 13 with no walks, giving up one earned run in seven innings as Beckville notched a 5-1 win against Overton.

Sarah Gray drove in two runs, and Madisyn Bridges had two hits and an RBI for Beckville. Shelley Pierce doubled.

Cushing 7, Alto 3

ALTO — Cushing rallied from a 3-1 deficit by pushing across six runs in the top of the seventh en route to a 7-3 win over Alto in District 22-2A.

Annie Cox, Abbie Teutsch, Maquela Jackson, Jalyn Tobias and Haley Hester all had two hits in the loss for Alto.

Rockwall-Heath 2, Longview 1

ROCKWALL — Shelby Curtis scattered five hits and allowed just one run as Rockwall-Heath escaped with a 2-1 win over the Longview Lady Lobos on Monday in District 16-5A softball.

Avery Cotten tripled, and Jordan McClain, Kennedy Cameron, Zekyia Robinson and Alexis Hunter all chipped in with singles in the loss for Longview.

Cameron struck out 10, walked one and did not allow an earned run in the loss.

Union Grove 14, Hawkins 4

UNION GROVE  Winter Wilson had four RBIs and Maddie Clower was stellar in the circle as the Union Grove Lady Lions defeated the Hawkins Lady Hawks 14-4 on Monday in a District 19-2A softball game.

Hannah Carter, Sydney Chamberlain, Madelynn Lacaze and Wilson all had doubles for UG. Chmberlain, Lacaze, Carter and Maddie Barnett each had two hits with Jocy Suarez, Mia Rust, Mireya Evans and Shayla Gallagher adding one hit each.

Others with RBIs were Lacaze (2), Wyleigh Wilson (1), Chamberlain (1), Rust (1), Carter (1) and Barnett (1). Scoring runs were Chamberlain (3), Lacaze (2), Winter Wilson (2), Gallagher (2), Rust (1) and Barnett (1).

Clower pitched five innings, allowing four unearned runs with seven strikeouts and two walks.

Lynli Dacus had a triple for the Lady Hawks. Dacus and Alyssa Eddington each had two hits with Josie Howard, Jaci Owens and Mariana Clark adding hits.

Alto 11, Joaquin 4

ALTO — Maquela Jackson and Annie Cox drove in three runs apiece to lead Alto past Joaquin, 11-4 in District 22-2A softball.

Cox had two doubles and a single. Abbie Teutsch and Abby Bernard both doubled. Bernard, Teutsch and Jalyn Tobias all had two hits, with Teutsch driving in two runs and Tobias adding an RBI.

Teutsch struck out two with no walks in six innings for the pitching win.

Carthage 8, Mount Pleasant 3

MOUNT PLEASANT — Kalli Cuff homered, tripled, drove in a run and scored twice, and Carthage used a four-run fifth inning to take control in an 8-3 win over Mount Pleasant in non-district.

Natalee Dinnerville added a triple, single and RBI for Carthage. Addison Blissett, Kayman Courtney and Kinsley Ingram all doubled. Madison Reynolds, Taylor Wills and Ashton Jones had two hits apiece, with Wills driving in two runs and Ingram, Jones, Cuff and Blissett all collecting RBI.

Wills struck out 15, walked four and gave up two earned runs in seven innings.

Cayuga 15, Fruitvale 3

FRUITVALE  Jayci Cotton had four hits and Alexis Gray added two doubles and a single as the Cayuga LadyCats scored a 15-3 win over Fruitvale on Tuesday in a District 20-2A softball game.

Cotton had two doubles and two singles, along with three RBIs and three runs scored.

Megan Kelley had a double and triple with three RBIs and three runs scored.

Julia Griffey, Autumn Yates and Baylee Barrett all had doubles.

Along with the two two-baggers, Gray had a single, three RBIs and three runs scored.

Madi Poland contributed a triple and single with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Griffey and Briley Shaw had two hits with Gracie Conrad adding a single. Others driving in runs were Barrett (1), Griffey (1) and Conrad (2). Others scoring runs were Shaw (3) and Conrad (1).

Conrad (4 innings, 3 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned, 4 strikeouts, 3 walks) and Griffey (2 innings, 1 hit, 1 run, 0 earned, 4 strikeouts, 1 walk) shared duties in the circle.
