Registration is open for the Tri-County Beef & Forage Workshop

The Tri-County Beef & Forage Workshop will be held on April 26 at the Cherokee County Show Barn, 611 SE Loop 456 in Jacksonville. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. with the educational program starting at 9 a.m. and ending about 1:30 p.m. There is a $10 cost for the conference with a catered lunch provided. Topics on the program are:
— Aquatic Weed Control in Agricultural Ponds (Ken Hale, Boatcycle)
— Herd Health Management from a Veterinarian Perspective (Dr. Max Dow, DVM MPH, retired TAHC regional director-Fort Worth)
— Benefits & Implementation of Planned Crossbreeding Programs (Dusty Pendergrass, field representative for Beefmaster Breeders United)
— External Parasites & Horn Fly Control (Lee Dudley, CEA-Ag, Panola County)
Three continuing educational units will be given for the program in the Integrated Pest Management category. Please RSVP to the Smith County Extension Office, 1517 W. Front St., Tyler; or call 903-590-2980 by Monday, April 22. This will let us have an accurate participant count for the amount of food to order for lunch. We will also have booth exhibits from various agriculture-related industries. I look forward to seeing everybody at the conference!
