MESQUITE — Tyler Lee’s boys placed fourth and the girls finished sixth at the District 11-6A Track and Field Championships Wednesday and Friday at Hanby Stadium.

The top four individuals in each event qualified for the area meet.

Haftu Knight — a University of Texas signee — picked up three first-place finishes. He won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.28. He won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:29.06. He won the 3,200-meter run with a time of 9:23.07. Nick Knight also qualified for area in all three events. Nick Knight placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.96; third in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:29.06; and third in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:02.02.

Benjamin Dene won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 39.20.

Daylon Harris took third place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.99.

Jordan Benson was second and Te’vion Massey was fourth in the long jump with jumps of 21-4.5 and 20-5.25, respectively.

Garfield Lawrence was second in both the shot put and discus. He had a throw of 44-7.5 in the shot put and a distance of 156-1 in the discus.

The Lee girls had two relay teams qualify for the area meet. The 4×200-meter relay team of Jaylin Walker, Taliyah Mumphrey, Jayla Chandler-Nelson and Arianna Frater was fourth with a time of 1:45.24.

The 1,600-meter relay team of Camille Babino, Aliesha Rivers, Jayla Chandler-Nelson and Uriyah Smith was third with a time of 4:10.19.

Camille Moore was fourth in the high jump with a height of 5-0.

Markesha Allen placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 34-3.
