Tyler City Council candidates report raising more than $4,000

Two candidates for local office have raised more than $4,000 in the latest campaign finance filings placed with the Tyler city clerk. 

In the race for the District 3 seat on the Tyler City Council, Pamela Phoenix and Dalila Reynoso filed campaign finance reports. The third candidate, Shirley McKellar, said she did not file because she has not been raising money.



Phoenix outraised Reynoso 7-to-1 and outspent her 2-to-1, according to the campaign finance reports. Phoenix’s filing period was March 25 to April 24, and Reynoso’s was for April 1 to 26.

Phoenix reported raising $4,025, spending $2,372, and having $4,273 in cash on hand. Reynoso reported raising $570, spending $1,089, and having $1,484 in cash on hand.

Phoenix reported 15 donations ranging from $25 to $1,000. The highest-spending donors were Otis and Claudia Carroll ($1,000), Ed Thompson ($500), David Hudson ($500) and John and Stori Nix ($500).

Reynoso reported six donations ranging from $10 to $250. The highest-spending donors were Jose Sanchez ($250), Rebecca Cole ($200), Neraesha Green ($50) and Jisela Clayton ($40).

Phoenix’s largest expenditures were consulting with Dot the i ($1,419) and an event expense to Kauvonya Graves ($200). Reynoso’s were printing with ABS T-Shirt Grahpics ($480) and Quality T-Shirts Prints ($200).
