HENDERSON — MOORE, James Daniel (Dan) of Henderson passed away after a long illness on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the age of 70 in Tyler, surrounded by his wife, Ann, and a few close friends.
He was born to parents James Daniel Moore Sr. and Alice Moore of Columbia, S.C. On March 23, 1984, Ann Kennedy married Dan Moore at the Whitehouse, a youth ministry center in Camden, S.C., and together they started their amazing journey that would end 40 years later with his passing.
Moving their home place was the norm for they lived in South Carolina cities of Camden and Lugoff; Tennessee cities of Smyrna (several places), Murfreesboro and Las Casa; Vero Beach, Fla.; and Texas cities of Alba, Mineola, Lindale (couple of places), Dallas, Garland, Mineola, Tyler, Whitehouse, Palestine, Alvin and Henderson…. and now he has moved to Heaven to be with Jesus.
Among his many talents, Dan loved to cook, fish and explore new regions. There was always a new adventure on the horizon. He was very high-energy and loved to travel.
He will always be remembered as a man of great wisdom, integrity, dependability, a mentor and a man of vision. One of his greatest gifts was going into a new area and seeing the potential growth possibilities for future development. He was definitely a visionary – strong, courageous and always determined to succeed.
During his year-long illness he kept the faith and kept pushing forward to believe for recovery. Unfortunately, his illness was too advanced.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Daniel Moore Sr., and mother, Alice Moore, of Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Moore of Henderson; his brothers, Ron David Moore and wife Nancy, and Keith Moore and wife Gerrie, all of Clarksville, Tenn.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects before and during the memorial service at First Baptist Church – Henderson, 207 W. Main St., Henderson, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16.
Flowers and plants are certainly welcome.
