Brookshire Grocery Company was named America’s Best-In-State Employers for Texas in an inaugural list by Forbes.

Brookshire Grocery Co. has been named to America’s Best-In-State Employers for Texas, an inaugural list by Forbes.

An independent survey of over 80,000 U.S. employees working at companies with at least 500 employees was used to make the selection. Those surveyed rated their willingness to suggest their employer to family and friends, according to a Brookshire’s news release.

Brad Brookshire, Brookshire Grocery Co. chairman and CEO, said he’s appreciative of the company’s employees and their custom service.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of America’s top employers in Texas,” Brookshire said. “Our company is very proud to employ many talented individuals who are passionate about serving others and committed to living out our core values. Brookshire’s is a regional family-owned business employing roughly 14,000 people in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. It operates over 175 stores, including Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, FRESH by Brookshire’s and Spring Market, and three distribution centers and corporate offices.

Employees are shown appreciation annually for their years of service, outstanding leadership and performance, according to the company’s news release.

Employee development and engagement is a part of the company’s strategic plan each year. The company also offers professional development, employee benefits and assistance for employees in need, the release stated.
