- Children take turns meeting and petting dogs at the Pet Fair at Kids’ Kaleidoscope, an early learning program that is a ministry of Pollard United Methodist Church.
From a friendly, fluffy cat to dogs of all shapes and sizes, children met new friends at the annual Kids’ Kaleidoscope Pet Fair.
Director Kimberly Brasher said that each year after the preschoolers learn about pets, they host the fair with parents bringing family pets up to the school.
“They learn appropriate ways to approach animals,” she said. “We started (the fair) with a pet blessing because we believe these pets are a gift from God.”
More than two dozen pets were on hand, including dogs, cats, a hamster and a hermit crab.
Students got to say hello to each animal and practice approaching the animals without scaring them.
The school will host a second Pet Fair on Friday for families who weren’t able to make the first one.
