Altra Federal Credit Union in Tyler will hold its second annual Altra Gives Back Day on Monday.

Staff members will volunteer at various nonprofits, such as food banks, animal shelters, outdoor trails, youth centers and nursing homes throughout this day.

All offices will be closed while the employees volunteer, according to a news release.

“Altra strives to make the communities we serve better places to live and one way we achieve that is through employee volunteerism,” Altra President and CEO Steve Koenen said. “Altra Gives Back Day is a way we can join together as a team and make a difference.”

Oct. 14 was selected because it is a federal holiday and all employees will be able to participate.

“We are excited to hold our second annual Altra Gives Back Day in our member communities nationwide,” Altra community relations manager Shawn Hauser said. “Helping the organizations in the markets we serve strengthens our communities and inspires our employees to give back.”
