The Tyler Lions sophomore team (ages 9-10) won the Tri-County League Super Bowl 42-40 in double overtime against the Pittsburg Pirates on Saturday at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium in Kilgore. The Lions are 11-1 and will now compete in the Red Zone Games at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, in December. Team members are Kayden Walker, Charles Davis, Monarick Crawford, Matthew Mitchell Jr., Bryson Stewart, Paidon Britton-Williams, Jacobian Mitchell, Isaiah Smith, Jayden Rice, Cameron Stanley, Jeremiah McGowan, Amare Garrett, Caden Reese, Keylan Bircher, Markeithian Potts, Riley Pettigrew, Ashtyn Caraway, Romello Bendy, Raul Medina, Nehimijah Forge, Warren Royall, Ken’Drelyn Quinsey, Ja’Quavis Norris, KeLynn Merrick, Kae’Den Franklin, Daiilan McCuin, Bernaida Calip and Marquis Murry. The head coach is Michael Williams. Assistant coaches are Tim Hollis, Keenan Garrett, Monarick Crawford, Kelly Humber Jr. and Cor’Drell Radway.
