ARP TOURNAMENT GRACE COMMUNITY 6, OVERTON 2
ARP — The Grace Community Lady Cougars rallied from a two run first-inning deficit to score a 6-2 victory over the Overton Mustangs on Friday.
Presley Johnston tossed four innings, allowing two hits and two unearned runs while striking out seven and walking one.
Garnering hits for the Lady Cougars were Sheldon Furqueron, Emma Barrentine, Johnston, Brianna Redding, Hadley Brewer and Morgan Sumrall.
Driving in runs were Furqueron, Redding, Brewer, Sumrall and Brianna Carlson.
Scoring runs were Brewer (2), Maddie Flanery (1), Barrentine (1), Redding (1) and Kaleigh Lopez (1).
WIMBERLEY TOURNAMENT RAINS WINS 2
WIMBERLEY — The Rains Lady Cats scored two wins on Friday in the Wimberley Softball Tournament — 18-0 over Yoakum and 16-1 over Wimberley.
Sage Hoover (3 innings, 0 hits, 0 runs, 7 strikeouts, 0 walks) and Chanlee Oakes (1 inning, 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 strikeout, 0 walks) kept the Lady Bulldogs in check in the 18-0 win.
Catrin Hoffman had two doubles for the Lady Cats with one each from Sarah Coffman, Hoover, Jasmine Mott, Oakes and Leo Terry.
Hoover had four hits and four RBIs with Coffman garnering three hits and two RBIs. Oakes had two hits and three runs batted in.
Terry, Mott and Hoffman each had two hits with Alexis Kearney, Avery Songer and Madison Reid adding singles.
Other RBIs were from Mott (2), Hoffman (2), Terry (1) and Kearney (1).
Terry, Mott and Oakes each scored three runs with Hoover and Erin Emig scoring twice. Presley McAree, Coffman, Hoffman, Songer and Reid each scored once.
Oakes pitched three innings in the win over Wimberley, allowing six hits and one run while striking out four. Hoover finished up the final inning and struck out the side.
Coffman, Hoffman, Skyler Monroe and Mott all had triples for Rains with Hoffman and Terry adding doubles.
Hoffman had three hits and two RBIs, while Mott had two hits and three RBIs. Terry had two hits with Songer, McAree, Oakes and Emig adding singles.
McAree, Monroe and Emig each had two RBIs with Coffman and Oakes driving in one apiece.
Scoring runs were Terry (3), Songer (2), McAree (2), Mott (2), Coffman (2), Reid (2), Hoffman (1), Kearney (1) and EMig (1).
HARMONY 6, EDGEWOOD 1
EDGEWOOD — Analese Cano tossed a three-hitter, giving up one run while striking out 12 as the Harmony Lady Eagles defeated the Edgewood Lady Bulldogs 5-1.
Cano walked only one batter.
Delaynie Nash belted a home run and added a single for Harmony with Katelyn Welborn hitting a double. Kaylee Clemens and Madi Rhame added singles.
Along with Nash’s RBI, Welborn drove in two nad Dacy Dawson one. Scoring runs were Nash (2), Clemens (1), Jenci Seahorn (1) and Joey Wagner (1).
Ricky Price had a single and triple for Edgewood and she scored a run.
Jessica Martinez had a single and Jasmine Jackman drove in the run.
ALLEN TOURNAMENT LONGVIEW SPLITS
ALLEN — The Longview Lady Lobos knocked off Bells, 5-2, and fell to El Paso Eastlake, 6-0, on Friday.
Against Bells, Kerris Cameron homered, singled and drove in three runs and Alexis Hunter doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the Lady Lobos. Zekyia Robinson and Avery Cotten chipped in with singles. Kennedy Cameron struck out 10, walked four and gave up two earned runs on two hits in six innings.
The Lady Lobos managed just three hits against Eastlake, with Hunter doubling and Makayla Washington and Kerris Cameron adding singles. Reagan Fleet fanned four and walked four in four innings to shoulder the loss. Alexis Hunter struck out three and walked four in two frames.
TASO HARMONY 5, EDGEWOOD 1
LONGVIEW — Analese Cano struck out 12, walked one and scattered three hits, Delaynie Nash homered and singled and the Harmony Lady Eagles earned a 5-1 win over Edgewood.
Katelyn Welborn added a double and two RBI for Harmony, and Dacy Dawson drove in a run.
ARP WEST RUSK 5, NECHES 1
ARP — Lilly Waddell mowed down 13 batters via the strikeout, allowing no walks and giving up one unearned run on two hits in a 5-1 win over Neches. Piper Morton homered and doubled for the Lady Raiders. Allyson Floyd added two hits and two RBI, and Abby Hernandez and Taylor Davis drove in runs.
The Lady Raiders also defeated Douglass (18-1) and Hallsville’s JV (6-2) on Friday.
Against Douglass, Floyd homered twice, including a grand slam, and Morton added a grand slam. Floyd drove in seven runs and Morton six, with Taylor Davis and Lilly Waddell both adding doubles. Stormie Lejune had two RBI, Waddell three hits and Davis two hits. Waddell struck out seven and tossed a no-hitter at Douglass.
Against Hallsville, Macie Blizzard fanned six and walked one for the pitching win. Floyd doubled and drove in a run. Kaelyn King had two RBI and Hernandez also plated one run.
WEST RUSK WINS TWO
NEW LONDON — West Rusk scored wins over Hallsville’s JV (6-2) and Douglass (18-1) on Friday.
Against the Hallsville JV, Macie Blizzard pitched a five-hitter, allowing two unearned runs with six strikeouts and a walk.
Allyson Floyd hit a double for the Lady Raiders with Kaelyn King adding two RBIs.
Other hits were from Stormie Lejune, King and Natalie Christy. Abby Hernandez and Floyd drove in a run apiece.
Piper Morton scored runs with one each by Lejune, Floyd, King and Brooklyn Kinney.
Against Douglass, Lilly Waddell threw a three-inning no-hitter, allowing an unearned run with seven strikeouts and no walks.
Floyd hit two home runs and Morton added one. Taylor Davis and Waddell added doubles.
Floyd had seven RBIs with Morton adding a single and six RBIs. Waddell had two singles to go with her double. Davis also had single to go along with her double.
Hernandez, Natalie Christy and Julia Hendrix added singles.
Other RBIs were from Lejune (2) and Hernandez (1).
Scoring runs were Lejune (3), Morton (3), Davis (3), Hernandez (2), Floyd (2), Hendrix (2), King (1), Christy (1) and Bailey Kinney (1).
TASO
The Henderson Lady Lions blanked Mineola (7-0) and Lufkin (4-0) and fell to Alto (2-1) on Thursday.
Against Mineola, Milee Green, Kaylie Clark, Maggi Dickerson and Trinity Sledge all doubled, with Moriah Guerrero adding two hits and three RBI and Dickerson driving in two runs. Madeleine Wells and Kloee Carroll also drove in runs. Carroll struck out three and walked one.
Green and Wells tripled, Carroll and Dickerson doubled and Sledge drove in two runs against Lufkin. Wells finished with three hits. Carroll had a couple of hits and Dickerson drove in a run. Wells fanned six and walked one for the pitching win.
Henderson got a double from Green and three hits and an RBI from Wells in the loss to Alto. Carroll fanned 11 and walked two in 5.2 innings of work.
TROUP WINS 3
Troup picked up three wins, defeating Chapel Hill (3-0), Kerens (4-3) and Grand Saline (2-0).
Against Chapel Hill, Jessie Minnix had two hits and three RBI to pace the Lady Tigers. Maddy Griffin had two hits and three RBi and Maegan Harrison drove in a run agaisnt Kerens, and Minnix and Ashley Neel drove in runs in the win over Grand Saline.
Lindsay Davis earned all three pitching wins. She worked 9.1 innings on the day, striking out 21 with no walks. Haylee Priest struck out six against Kerens.
