William “Billy” Jones

TYLER — Services for Mr. William “Billy” Jones are scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2020 1:00 PM at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Caraway, Jr. officiating and Dr. M. K. Mast eulogist. Final arrangements were entrusted to Brooks Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors.

William Jones was born September 20, 1925 to Jearold Smith and Annie B. Miller. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Emmett Scott High School. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary Baptist Church. He served in many capacities until his health began to fail.

Mr. Jones served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed by Mother Frances Hospital, General Electric/Trane Company for over 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and step father Booker T. Jones; spouse Erma Jean Tyiska Jones and 1 son.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one son Dewayne A. Jones (Gloria); daughter -in-law Lillian Jones. Four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great -great granddaughter. A host of other loving relatives and friends.
