TAPPS Division II District 3 Girls Soccer: Six Grace players earn first team

Six Grace Community Lady Cougars —three seniors, two juniors and a freshman — earned first-team honors on the TAPPS Division II All-District 3 girls soccer team, the league’s coaches announced.

The three seniors on the squad — who were also team captains — are forward Rebekah Sutton and defenders Zoe Wilson and Darby Walker.



The two junior Lady Cougars on the first team are midfielder Alana Roberts and goalkeeper Sydney Hagaman.

The young freshman star on the top team is forward Ella Rose Embry.

Sutton also earned second-team all-state honors as well as academic all-state. Walker was also academic all-state with Roberts, Wilson and Hagaman honorable mention all-state.

Grace tied with Dallas Christian for the district title and the Lady Cougars made their sixth Final Four by capturing two playoff victories — 5-1 over Austin St. Michael’s and 7-0 over Fort Worth Southwest Christian. Grace fell in the state semifinals 3-1 to eventual state champion Grapevine Faith Christian 3-1.

Bullard Brook Hill’s Dominika Ducal, a sophomore midfielder, was on the first team.

Several Grace players dotted the second team.

The Lady Cougars honored were junior forward Hannah Meyer, freshman midfielder Rylee Ratliff, sophomore midfielder Addyson Campbell and freshman defender Abby Metzger.

Brook Hill kickers earning second-team honors were forwards Hannah Smith, a freshman, and Emerson Rose, a junior; midfielder Kensington Holley, a junior; defender Grace Carpenter, a sophomore; and goalkeeper Kaniyah Hill, a freshman.

Earning honorable mention from Grace were sophomore forward Merritt Dial, senior midfielder and team captain Hadley Brewer, and junior defender Rebekah Harris.

Lady Guard players earning honorable mention were junior forward Hallie Madison Foster, senior midfielder Avery Latson, sophomore midfielder Avery Moss, junior defender Anna Machelle Hardee and senior defender Kaylee Lake.
