Savannah Solis set out on a mission to let peace officers know she cares. She is seen with Department of Public Safety troopers in 2014. She has been asked to visit other departments in the area.

A Tyler teen, who has made thank you cards for law enforcement officers locally and beyond since 2014, will soon have her own book published.

Savannah Solis started delivering cards to law enforcement, including Texas Department of Public Safety, the Tyler Police Department, the Smith County Sheriff’s Office and the Whitehouse Police Department, when she was 10.

In 2014, she delivered about 300 cards to Texas officers and 200 for New York officers. Since she started making her notes, she has traveled across the country meeting police officers and thanking them for their service.

In a Facebook post Tuesday on the page, Help Savannah Say Thank You, Solis announced her book, “She Believed She Could, So She Did,” will soon be available to the public.

“This is my big chance to make a difference for law enforcement, but I can’t do this without your help,” the post reads. “With your help, we can make an impact for the men and women who wear the badge.”

On Facebook, Solis said she will share a link on how to order the book in a few weeks. She said basketball icon Shaquille O’Neal encouraged her four years ago to write a book.

Hunter Mooney created the illustrations for the book.

”It is exactly how I wanted it. I can’t believe it’s this close,” Solis said on Facebook. “They matter to me.”

In 2017, she and her family welcomed NYPD officer Victor Cabral to Tyler to see the community with a barbecue dinner, visiting the Rose Garden Center, Dallas Police Memorial and San Antonio River Walk.
