TYLER — Graveside services for Jessie Leverne Hopkins, 82, of Tyler will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Tyler Memorial Park in Tyler with Dr. Bill Allen officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Hopkins passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 in Tyler. He was born April 14, 1938 in Cleora, OK to Arthur Hopkins and Lois Cannady Hopkins.
Jessie was a member of West Erwin Church of Christ. He retired from the position of Laboratory Equipment Maintenance Supervisor at Trane Air Conditioning Company in Tyler. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, knife making and was an amazingly artistic and talented craftsman.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Hopkins and Lois Cannady Hopkins and his brother Frank Hopkins. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 63 years, Charlotte Mathis Hopkins of Tyler; daughter, Shelli Hopkins Garrett and husband Carl Garrett of Tyler; son, Todd Hopkins and wife Jennifer Rogers Hopkins of Murchison; sisters, Wanda Boice and Micki Hayward of Vinita, OK and Ruby Meador and husband Dee Meador of Conroe. His grandchildren include Chelsea Garrett Rogers and husband Travis Rogers of Pine Junction, CO; Meleah Garrett Tash and husband Justin Tash of Tucson, AZ; Collene Garrett Shastid and husband Spencer Shastid of Tyler; Jess Hopkins and Billy Hopkins of Murchison. He also had two wonderful great-grandchildren, Jasper Rogers and Lee Shastid.
