BULLARD — It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Alfred (Al) Byrnes of Emerald Bay. Al, born in Carlisle, MS on 11/02/44 was the son of Marguerite and Burton Byrnes, and was one of five children. At the age of 16, he began attending Belhaven College, where he met the love of his life, Tina Fairleigh. Al and Tina were married and moved to Pascagoula. In 1974, he began a career as a sales rep. Al loved his customers dearly, and they adored him. His enthusiasm for work was only surpassed by his love for his Lord and his family. His family moved to Athens because “it was so beautiful.” Al relished finally having boys when he got Bob, Bryon and Michael as sons-in-law. Once they moved to Emerald Bay, they enjoyed nightly patio time with neighbors, as well as boating and fishing. He was welcomed to heaven by his parents and his oldest brother, Burt, as well as his grandson, Drew Hoffman. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Tina, and his daughters Elizabeth Hoffman, Kristen Cummins, and Parrish Bruner. “Aah” was beloved by his grandchildren, Katherine and Hallie Hoffman and Mason and Isabela Bruner (both serving in the U.S. Army). Al loved his sisters, Anne Alleman and Aline Nicholson, as well as his brother, Jon. He was very close to Tom, Libba, and Ed Fairleigh, Tina’s siblings. On April 5, a service will take place at Emerald Bay Community Church in Bullard at 1:00. The Live stream – facebook.com/emeraldbaychurch. His ashes will be buried at his family plot in MS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Emerald Bay Church, or by treating a service member to a meal, which Al did frequently. The family would love to know your special memories of Al at AlByrnesRemembered@gmail.com
