Quarterback Sawyer Robertson, who started for the injured Dequan Finn, added 248 yards passing and a rushing TD as the Bears (2-1) ended a nine-game home losing streak against FBS opponents.
Robertson was 18 of 24 passing without an interception after Finn struggled in last week’s 23-12 loss to No. 12 Utah, losing a fumble and getting sacked three times.
Finn watched from the sideline in street clothes against the Falcons and had a sling on his right (throwing) arm. Coach Dave Aranda said he has a shoulder injury, and the team is hopeful that Finn will return “sooner rather than later.”
Baylor avenged its 30-15 loss to the Falcons (1-2) in the 2022 Armed Forces Bowl when it was 13 degrees and breezy at kickoff in Fort Worth, Texas.
Air Force, which had won five straight games against power conference foes, once again had trouble getting its vaunted rushing attack going. The Falcons still haven’t surpassed 200 yards on the ground in a game this season, finishing with 193 against the Bears.
After Isaiah Hankins broke a 3-3 tie with a 51-yard field goal on the final play of the first half, Robertson guided the Bears to 25 unanswered points after the break.

Reese had 48 yards and his first rushing TD in nearly a year. He struggled last season after being named the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year in 2022.

Washington hadn’t played in a game since Sept. 30, 2023, and started this season sidelined by an undisclosed injury. He couldn’t help but think of his late father, who died when Washington was 3.
HOUSTON 33, RICE 7: HOUSTON — Donovan Smith threw for 142 yards and accounted for three touchdowns, and Stacy Sneed rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown as Houston earned its first win under coach Willie Fritz, beating crosstown rival Rice 33-7 on Saturday night.
Sneed rushed around right end for a 65-yard touchdown with 5 1/2 minutes left in the first quarter, and Mekhi Mews returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown less than two minutes later.
Sneed said Houston’s win in the Bayou Bucket game meant a lot. The Owls beat Houston 43-41 in double overtime last season.
After Houston’s Michael Batton recovered a muffed Rice punt, Smith, who finished 12 of 21, found Stephon Johnson for a 44-yard touchdown pass midway through the second quarter as Houston took a 20-0 lead into halftime.
Fritz, who described his first win at Houston as “special,” said he continued to see improvements each week.
Smith rushed for touchdowns covering 1 and 37 yards in the second half. Re’Shaun Sanford II rushed for 71 yards for Houston. The Cougars (1-2) outgained Rice 379-159 yards, including 237-75 yards rushing.

Bralyn Lux returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown and Coy Eakin had a 70-yard TD catch as the Red Raiders (2-1) scored seven touchdowns in a span of 13 minutes starting late in the first quarter.

After giving up 506 yards passing to ACU, the Red Raiders intercepted Chandler Morris three times in the second quarter, including the throw after Lux’s pick-6 when the ball went through receiver Kyle Koch’s hands.
The Mean Green (2-1) pulled within 10-7 when Wyatt Young took a screen pass 75 yards for a score. But Tahj Brooks, who had 109 yards rushing after missing Texas Tech’s loss to the Cougars with an injury, started the 42-0 surge with a 21-yard scoring run on fourth-and-1.
The Red Raiders went up 52-7 and tied their scoring record for any half on Jalin Conyers’ 10-yard catch 3:08 before halftime. Texas Tech scored 52 before the break in a 63-7 victory over Indiana State in 2005.
Morton didn’t play after halftime, finishing 15 of 19 for 273 yards without an interception after his two picks were among four Texas Tech turnovers in a 37-16 loss to the Cougars.

McNeese has won four straight against Stephen F. Austin.
