Tyler-area families can register for PATH’s Coats for Kids drive

PATH (People Attempting to Help) has announced that the Annual Coats for Kids drive is underway.



From Oct. 1 through Oct. 21, families in need of a coat for their children can register at PATH from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. Families are required to bring proof of child’s identification at the time of registration, such as social security card, school ID, report card, etc.

PATH will be closed Oct. 14 for Indigenous People Day but will reopen the following day at 8 a.m.

Coats will be distributed to families on Nov. 16 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at First Presbyterian Church in Tyler.

To donate to PATH for Coats For Kids, you can:

1. Drop off donations and new coats at PATH between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday – Thursday;

2. Take gently used children and youth size coats to participating cleaners (please no used adult size);

3. Go to www.pathhelps.org/coatsforkids, or

4. Mail donations to: PATH, 402 W Front St., Tyler, TX 75701

Participating cleaners in Tyler are: Comet, VIP, Hart’s, Progress, Regency, and The Cleaning Company. Current 2024 Sponsors are KLTV, KVNE, and Texas Bank & Trust.

Founded 39 years ago by Mrs. Gertrude Windsor, PATH’s (People Attempting to Help) mission is to restore hope with a personalized approach to empower our East Texas neighbors to thrive in our community. PATH serves 120 families daily, 150 new families each month, and 22,494 people in 2023. Services include emergency assistance, basic medical services, and permanent supportive and transitional housing.

PATH also offers the largest Choice Food Pantry in East Texas. Coats For Kids and seasonal drives for diapers, fans, and personal care items provide other assistance to those in need.
