From reading or working on a laptop in the living room to spending more time with family in the backyard, East Texans are reconnecting with their homes more than ever.

That’s meant wearing both loungewear and luxurious fashion at home for work and socially distanced gatherings. It’s meant home renovation projects and new home building.

MKO Custom Builders has remained committed to helping residents turn their dream homes into a reality, said Mark O’Rear who co-owns MKO Custom Builders with his wife, K’Dawn O’Rear. The O’Rears also own East Texas Barndominium, through which he builds the favorite home trend of millennials. Barndominiums, which have become increasingly popular, are metal structures with a home inside.

Through MKO Custom Builders, O’Rear constructed the home at 2811 Fairway Oaks in Longview that was used as the backdrop for this fashion shoot and which will be featured in the Longview Parade of Homes.

The Mediterranean-style home on Fairway Oaks features an open floor plan, detailed cabinetry, a powder room with a floating vanity, an outdoor kitchen, beautiful pool and more.

“The curb appeal is amazing,” O’Rear said, adding that he appreciates everyone on his team and all of the vendors with which he works who help create dream homes for residents.

As summer sunny days set in, East Texas residents can take in views from their backyards with Longview Eye Associates’ brand new eyewear line, View Eyewear.

The newest frame line at Longview Eye Associates was inspired by businesses, local landmarks and people that make the Piney Woods Unique. Each frame is branded to the business, landmark or person it represents and all frames in the line were designed to reflect the look and feel of East Texas.

Dr. Blake Williams of Longview Eye Associates and Chloe Dunn showcased the newest frame line while also modeling clothing from Dillard’s.

Thank you to Williams, Dunn, O’Rear, the homeowners of 2811 Fairway Oaks, Longview Eye Associates, Dillard’s and Peters Chevrolet for participating in this fashion shoot.
