Girls Basketball Notebook: Tyler Legacy’s Senoj Jones takes weekly honor

Tyler Legacy’s Senoj Jones has earned Tyler Morning Telegraph Girls Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played Nov. 1-9.

Jones averaged 20.0 points, 14.6 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 2.0 blocks as the Lady Raiders went 3-0 with wins over Lake Highlands, Lufkin and Airline (Louisiana).

The New Mexico State commit poured in 28 points and added 19 rebounds and four assists for the Lady Raiders in the win over Lufkin.

In other outstanding performances in the area last week (nominated by coaches):

Jacksonville junior Tia Fuller averaged 22.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game. She had 19 points, 21 rebounds and six assists against Marshall Christian, and she had 26 points, eight deflections, seven steals and eight rebounds against Lindale. Trunijah Butler had 17 points and seven rebounds against Marshall Christian.



Bullard’s Lila Robertson averaged 16.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.7 steals and 1.7 blocks.

Rusk sophomore Jakaiyah Jenkins had 12 points and 11 rebounds in an overtime win over Central.

LaPoynor’s Bre Howard averaged 14.5 points and was 7 of 19 from 3-point range. Kendall Garcia averaged 13.0 points and 5.3 steals. Savannah Reynolds averaged 13.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.7 steals, and she was 10 of 11 from the free-throw line. Brooklyn Bristow averaged 10.7 rebounds.
