A look at some of the top college football recruits that will be competing in the UIL state football championships this week in Arlington:

Landen Williams-Callis, Soph., RB, Richmond Randle (Uncommitted)

Williams-Callis is one of the top sophomores in the country, and for good reason. He’s rushed for 2,002 yards and 42 touchdowns this season, averaging 9.7 yards per carry and 133.5 per game. Williams-Callis has piled up 2,291 all-purpose yards and 44 total touchdowns. He needs just 54 rushing yards in the state title game to reach 4,000 for his young career.

Chace Sims, Sr., DL, Richmond Randle (signed with Texas A&M)

Sims has been the leader of the Randle defense this season and made one of the biggest plays of the playoffs with his game-sealing strip-sack against Iowa Colony in the regional final. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound menace has collected 100-plus tackles this year and has 20-plus sacks for his career.

Adam Schobel, Sr., QB, Columbus (signed with TCU)

Schobel has been one of the best players in the state this season, regardless of classification. The Cardinals’ signal-caller and son of head coach Matt Schobel has completed 74% (200-269) of his passes for 3,473 yards and 53 touchdowns against just three interceptions. He’s also rushed for 538 yards and 12 scores, giving him 4,011 total yards and 65 total touchdowns.

Grayson Rigdon, Sr., RB, Columbus (signed with Wyoming)

Rigdon, already a three-time 6-man state champion, has been a sparkplug for the Cardinals this season. He’s rushed for 1,952 yards and 35 touchdowns, averaging 12 yards per carry. Also a capable pass-catcher out of the backfield, Rigdon has 251 yards and three touchdowns receiving.

Quentin Gibson, Sr., WR, North Crowley (signed with Colorado)

Gibson tallied two touchdowns and recorded his 10th 100-yard receiving game of the season during the Panthers’ 36-34 victory against two-time defending state champion Duncanville in the state semifinals. He’s got 33 touchdown catches this year, tying current Dallas Cowboys receiver and former Foster star CeeDee Lamb for the fifth-most all-time.

Elliott Schaper, Sr., LB, Austin Westlake (signed with Duke)

Schaper was all over the field during the Chaparrals’ semifinal victory against North Shore and has recorded 100-plus tackles for the second consecutive season. Schaper finished with 16 total tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks and has 124 stops (86 solo) through 15 games.

Brock Boyd, Jr., WR Southlake Carroll (committed to TCU)

Boyd has been one of the most prolific receivers in the state this year. There were only 66 seasons of 100-plus catches in Texas high school football history entering the 2024 season. Boyd is sitting at 98 catches for 1,690 yards and 18 touchdowns coming into the week.

Jayden Sanders, Sr., CB, Kilgore (signed with Michigan)

Sanders has great size for a cornerback at 6-foot-2 and has contributed for Kilgore in all three phases of the game during his high school career. He has some great football pedigree from his father, Nick Sanders, who was an all-conference defensive back at TCU in the late 2000s.

Kamauryn Morgan, Sr., EDGE, Dallas South Oak Cliff (signed with Baylor)

Morgan has all the physical traits to play at the college level with his 6-foot-4, 230-pound frame. He’s been a valuable addition to the Golden Bears’ defense this season after transferring from Red Oak for his senior year. He’s ranked as one of the top-20 edge rusher recruits in the country.

Eythan Thompson, Sr., OL, Waco La Vega (signed with Houston)

Thompson has been dominant in the trenches for La Vega this season at 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds. He and the rest of the offensive line have cleared the way for running back Bryson Roland to rush for 2,000-plus yards. The Pirates are averaging 379.8 yards per contest.

K.J. Edwards, Jr., RB, Carthage (Uncommitted)

Edwards is the No. 3-ranked running back in the country for the 2026 class and is aiming to win his second state title at Carthage. After getting his feet wet as a freshman, Edwards rushed for 1,706 yards as a junior and has been one of the primary threats for the Bulldogs again this year.

Bowe Bentley, Jr., QB, Celina (Uncommitted)

Bentley has been a playmaker for Celina throughout the season. He did it once again during the team’s 43-36 semifinal victory over West Plains, rushing for a game-high 154 yards and three touchdowns. Bentley has accounted for nearly 4,000 yards 58 total touchdowns this year.
