The City of Tyler is warning residents about a scam circulating on Facebook, falsely claiming dangerous criminals are in the area.

Authorities are investigating a homicide in Cherokee County.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating a homicide in the 8000 block of Farm to Market 855. FM 855 is between Bullard and Jacksonville in the Mt. Selman area. 

“We have two suspects detained for questioning. There is no danger to the public at this time,” Sheriff Brent Dickson said in a statement.
